Grass Fire at Bilpin

We were called to a grass fire at Karagora Ridge Road at Bilpin on 26th November. Bilpin RFS repoted the incident on their Facebook page:

Yesterday the BILPIN RFS responded to a grass fire that was sending up a huge amount of smoke and reducing visibility on Bells Line of Road. This unfortunate incident (unfortunate in so much that 4 RFS appliances, 15 RFS personnel, 5 NSW Police vehicles that consisted of 1 general duties vehicle, 1 highway patrol and 3 motorcycle officers) attended to speak to just 1 person who had not sought a permit before setting a paddock of dry grass alight. This gentleman was fined for his actions, and the community was without a large number of emergency personnel whilst they managed the situation.

Please THINK before you act and ascertain if you need a permit – consider the conditions, such as wind – check the fire danger rating and seek advice from your local RFS.

Diesel Oil Spill

And on 28th November we attended an oil spill on Stone Terrace which was quickly cleared.
