Neighbourhood Groups FAQ

This FAQ page will be updated baserd on your questions.  Please email them to kh.rfs.commmunity@gmail.com

Q: Who organises each group?

A: We’re looking for volunteers to attend a briefing session at the Fire Shed. They will then contact the families in 10 – 15 houses surrounding their place and organise a get together. At this time the group will decide a number of things including the group boundaries, how they will plan to proceed and who will be their co-ordinator and deputy.

Q: Will my personal information be shared with the Brigade and others in the Community?

A: Each group will decide what information to share. Most groups will share their Fire Plans amongst each other. No information will be shared with the Brigade without the individual’s authorisation.  Your coordinator will be properly briefed on our privacy requiremens and obligations.

Q: Will each group prepare its own Bushfire Plan?

A: Yes … ideally each group will document its own plan.  This will include things like services to be organised for old and infirm people, animals to be moved and where to, critical infrastructure to be identified to the Brigade and protected, and identified places of refuge.  We would like to see a subset of this plan iinput to the Brigade for our Kurrajong Heights Locality Plan … but this will require discussion and agreement at all levels.
